11YO Girl Safely Delivers Baby Brother On Bathroom Floor As Mother's Water Breaks Before Due Date

"I think it's definitely going to be something to remember. It's definitely an experience. I love him," the girl said

Jordan Eck thought she will be giving birth to her son, Kobe Fauth, named after the late Kobe Bryant, during the second week of May but turns out he had other plans. Eck's water broke way before the due date. She started screaming, waking up her 11-year-old sleeping daughter, Shyanne. The brave girl called for help but on realizing that it wouldn't arrive anytime soon, took it upon herself to deliver her brother.

"I thought I had a lot more time. I thought I had at least hours at a minimum, not minutes," Eck explained. She clearly did not expect things to escalate so quickly and she never thought that it would be her 11-year-old who would be helping her deliver the child. The girl recalled what happened at the time and said, "I called 911 and told them the gist of it. My mom is having a baby and we're in the bathroom. They were like, okay have her lay down." She explained that it became obvious that the EMTs would not be able to make it to the family's Molalla home in time to deliver the baby. "His head, the first push, his head was kind of there and then my mom pushed and his head came out. His neck was in there and by the second push, I grabbed his shoulders and he came out," she said, according to KGW8

EMTs arrived at the scene right after and cut the umbilical cord. They then took the mother and the newborn to the hospital for a check-up. "By the grace of God everything was perfect. There was zero complications. He came out in two pushes and it was very easy," the mother said before acknowledging her brave daughter who played a big part in the successful delivery. Eck shared that she was not surprised by what had happened. "This is who she is. She's an extreme person. She's ready for life and she's always been like this," she explained.
The big sister was very happy to have been a part of her brother's birth, "I think it's definitely going to be something to remember. It's definitely an experience. I love him," she said, according to KGW8.
