Cruel Couple Denied Food & Water To 8-YO Child & Forced Her To Jump On A Trampoline Continuously In 103 Degree Heat

Daniel and Ashley Schwarz were the child's guardians. They are charged with murder.

Teaching a child to be disciplined is important but punishing them without food and water is downright inhumane. One couple from Texas was held responsible for the death of an 8-year-old after they forced her to jump on a trampoline in intense heat.

According to People, Daniel and Ashley Schwarz of Texas, who were raising 8-year-old Jaylin Anne, were charged with capital murder on October 12, 2020. Odessa police informed that the couple was taken to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center. 



 

The incident came to light after officials arrived at the couple's home on August 29, 2020, after they received a call. On arrival, they found the girl was dead.

"Odessa Police responded to the 4300 block of Locust Avenue in reference to a medical call. Upon arrival, officers observed an 8-year-old female, who was later pronounced deceased on scene," said the statement released by the police. 

Further investigation into the case, "revealed that the 8-year-old child had been punished and was not allowed to eat breakfast and was required to jump on the trampoline without stopping for an extended period of time. Further investigation revealed that the 8-year-old child was not allowed to drink any water because she was not jumping," according to People.

The autopsy obtained by the police stated that the cause of the child's death was dehydration. The manner of the child's death was concluded to be a homicide.

Further, the police stated that the temperature in Odessa on the day of the girl's death was 103 degrees. While the temperature of the trampoline was "approximately 110 degrees and the ground was approximately 150 degrees," according to the police. 

The statement released by the police stated, "Based on the facts and circumstances presented during the investigation, capital murder warrants were obtained for both Daniel Schwarz and Ashley Schwarz, who were charged and arrested accordingly and transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center."

According to CBS 7, the couple was Jaylin's guardians. Her biological mother, Alysha Anderton took to social media and stated that she was trying to get access to Jaylin and her sister, who were both under the care of the couple. Her emotional note stated, "I never got the chance to tell her how HARD I was trying to be in her life and I was SO SO close," Anderton wrote on Facebook. "Only a few months away from being able to see them," according to People.

She continued, "But I was too late. And all I can think about is her leaving this world not knowing how much I love her and how much I wanted her. It's not fair that they got so many memories with her and all I'm left with is a hole in my heart that's so big that I'm completely numb and empty. A part of my soul has died and I will never be the same ever again."

The obituary of the little girl stated Jaylin "was full of life, loved horseback riding, ice skating, and all things outdoors. She loved all people and animals, and was very interested in history and science."
