Harry and Meghan had to return to California the day after the Queen's funeral without resolving their differences with King Charles and Prince William.
In the aftermath of the Queen's demise, for a short period of time, it seemed as though the friction between the separated royals of Sussex and the royal family had settled but, according to the Daily Mail, just 10 days after the Queen's funeral, Harry and Meghan have been moved to the last of the UK royal family pecking order.
During the funeral, the pair was seen being a part of the services. Harry and William stood side-by-side in support of their father as he mourned his mother's death. There were joint efforts from Meghan and Kate as they visited the flowers and tributes in Windsor in the days leading up to the Queen's state funeral. It was observed that Harry and Meghan had to return to California the day after the Queen's funeral without resolving their differences with King Charles and Prince William, in order to be with their children — Archie, three, and Lilibet, one — after two weeks away. The young children have apparently not yet been given the HRH titles.
The Sussexes were first moved down the page to the middle of the pecking order around 15 months ago. They were previously placed below the Prince and Princess of Wales and then moved to below the Wessexes and Princess Royal. Just after the funeral, the royal website showed that the couple had been pulled down to the bottom of the website, alongside minor royals and the disgraced Prince Andrew, and just below the likes of Princess Alexandra and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.
Prince Michael of Kent and his wife Marie-Christine have been removed from the list entirely for being 'non-working royals.' According to British media, King Charles III's view of having a slimmed and toned-down monarchy sides with the justification that the public cannot continue to fund an ever-expanding royal family.

However, this is not the first time that Harry and Meghan are being treated in an 'un-kinly' manner, after the separation. As reported by WION, Harry was barred from wearing his military uniform at the Queen's vigil, primarily because, when he quit royal life in 2020 and moved to California with Meghan, he was stripped of the right. Although, later, he received authorization to wear the military uniform from King Charles III. Furthermore, a day before the state funeral, King Charles III organized an elaborate ceremony for the world leaders. While most royal members were invited, the Sussex couple was given a cold shoulder. According to reports, they had been informed that the event was only for working royals. The report further mentioned that the couple was apparently baffled after hearing about the decision as royal officials insisted that they do not attend the event.
