The Proposal star tied the knot with Jesse James, an American entrepreneur, back in 2005 but it ended in divorce five years later in 2010.
Sandra Bullock is just one of the celebrities that everyone cannot help but love. She is friendly, funny, and most importantly unpretentious. Maybe that's why everyone was infuriated when they found out that her former husband broke her heart not once but multiple times. The Proposal star tied the knot with Jesse James, an American entrepreneur, back in 2005 but it ended in divorce five years later in 2010. In due course of their marriage, James cheated on her many time and when the 57-year-old found out about it, she decided to end things with him.
According to Daily Mail, there were several women who claimed to have an affair with the 52-year-old while he married the Oscar-winning actress. And guess what, he's done it again with his fourth wife. However, at the time he issued a public apology to Bullock according to Entertainment Tonight. "There is only one person to blame for this whole situation, and that is me. It's because of my poor judgment that I deserve everything bad that is coming my way," he noted. The hardest part about the divorce for him was losing his relationship with Bullock's son Louis, who he initially adopted in January 2010 along with the Miss Congeniality actress.
"Whether that's fair, whether I should've lost a kid due to infidelity -- which I don't think anybody ever does -- but I think with 'Hollywood law,' that's totally fair. I made mistakes and did stuff that I shouldn't have. I handled the situation not the way I should have, and you know what? I got divorced and lost a kid I adopted because of it," he said. James also claimed that he couldn't handle the attention he got from the media. "It got pretty bad. I beat the s**t out of a bunch of them. Just wait till the night when they didn't see me coming or run their cars off the road. You know, it's fair game. They're trying to make my life miserable and make money off of it, so, I should be entitled to do the same. You just gotta be sneaky about it so you don't get sued," said James.
Then in 2010, TMZ shared a video of James' dad claiming that his son was obsessed with the Nazis, per ABC. This revelation came after a photo of James wearing a German S.S. hat and giving a Nazi salute surfaced. Understandably, Bullock was in deep shock. "The photo shocked me and made me sad. This is not the man I married. This was stupid, this was ignorant. Racism, anti-Semitism, sexism, homophobia, anything Nazi and a boatload of other things have no place in my life. And the man I married felt the same," she told PEOPLE.
Instead of being apologetic for his shameful behavior, James blamed Bullock for not standing up for him. "I think the adultery part was totally fair 'cause I made big mistakes and did stuff I shouldn't have, and so I deserved what I had coming -- I think the whole Nazi part of it wasn't fair, and I think it was fueled by her and her publicist," he said. "They could've, like -- they knew that stuff wasn't true ... her exact quote to Us magazine was, 'That's not the man I married,' so I'm like, 'oh God.' Just like, poured gasoline and made it erupt. That stuff kinda hurts me because man, I grew up in an all-black neighborhood, and like, we adopted a black son. And not because he was black -- my requirement for the adoption was like, hey, I want the kid that needs us the most."
Back in January 2010, when Bullock received an award for her role in The Blind Side, she thanked her husband during her acceptance speech, completely unaware of his infidelity. "And to my husband, there is no surprise that my work got better when I met you because I never knew what it felt like for someone to have my back. So thank you!" she said. Soon after this, rumors of his cheating emerged as multiple women came forward. This prompted James to publicly apologize to Bullock and his three kids. He also said that a "vast majority" of the allegations made against him were "untrue and unfounded," but "it's because of my poor judgment that I deserve everything bad that is coming my way." But that didn't take away the fact that he violated Bullock's trust and left her heartbroken.
By 2017, he had moved on with his life and did not regret a thing as he was happy with the way his life turned out to be. He was married to his fourth wife, drag racer and heiress Alexis DeJoria, but he cheated on her as well with many women. A new report from the Daily Mail states that he had been with at least 20 women while he was married for 7 years to DeJoria. "Alexis feels humiliated and disrespected. Jesse has been cheating on her since they first met, it never stopped, she's only now realizing just how bad it was. She tried to save the marriage but Jesse wasn't interested, he would never come clean," revealed a close friend of DeJoria. Meanwhile, Bullock, a mother of two, hasn't been happier since she started dating her photographer boyfriend Bryan Randall. We hope she gets all the love that she truly deserves.
