Hollywood actor John Travolta is doing the same after losing his beautiful wife Kelly Preston to cancer. Travolta is keeping Preston alive in his life by remembering the things she loved to do.
The star took to Instagram to honor his wife in a special way. He posted a video of him dancing with their daughter Ella. The brief video captured the actor slow dancing with his daughter in an almost empty bar, according to Hello Magazine. "My daughter @ella.travolta and I dancing in memory of momma. One of Kelly’s favorite things, dancing with me," wrote the star on Instagram.
Preston passed away on July 12, 2020, after battling cancer for two years. Travolta took to Instagram to confirm the news of her passing. "It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my beautiful wife Kelly has lost her two-year battle with breast cancer. She fought a courageous fight with the love and support of so many," wrote the Grease actor. The sad actor also told his fans that he needed some privacy to be with his children.
“Kelly’s love and life will always be remembered. I will be taking some time to be there for my children who have lost their mother, so forgive me in advance if you don’t hear from us for a while. But please know that I will feel your outpouring of love in the weeks and months ahead as we heal," wrote Travolta. He further thanked the medical staff who took care of his dear wife.
"My family and I will forever be grateful to her doctors and nurses at MD Anderson Cancer Center, all the medical centers that have helped, as well as her many friends and loved ones who have been by her side," stated the father of three.
Travolta was married to Preston for 29 years. They met each other in 1987 on the sets of The Experts. Though they did not establish a romantic relationship immediately, they eventually fell in love. Over the years, the couple went through a lot. They lost their firstborn, Jett when he was just 16-years-old. Even though it took an emotional toll on the family, Travolta and Preston overcame it all together.
They shared a beautiful marriage and appreciated each other. According to People, "To my dearest Johnny, the most wonderful man I know. You have given me hope when I have felt lost, loved me patiently and unconditionally… made me laugh harder than any other human being possible… shared the most beautiful highs and at times low. You're a dream Daddio and make life so much fun!! I trust my love with you implicitly… with you I know I will always be okay no matter what happens… I love you forever and completely. Happy 28th Anniversary," wrote Preston, .
After her death, their daughter, Ella paid tribute to her. According to Variety, she wrote, "I have never met anyone as courageous, strong, beautiful, and loving as you. Anyone who is lucky enough to have known you or to have ever been in your presence will agree that you have a glow and a light that never ceases to shine and that makes anyone around you feel instantly happy."
She continued, "Thank you for being there for me no matter what. Thank you for your love. Thank you for your help and thank you for making this world a better place. You have made life so beautiful and I know you will continue to do so always. I love you so much mama."
