Keanu Reeves Once Sat Down On The Sidewalk With A Homeless Man And Listened To His Stories

In this series of images, Reeves is engrossed in a conversation with a homeless man. The two were even seen sharing a drink and a few laughs together.

"I’m not looking for a red carpet to walk, and I’m not trying to have a celebrity footprint," Keanu Reeves once told Men's Journal.

Neither fame nor money drives the humble 55-year-old man, who has also said, "Money is the last thing I think about," as quoted by Hello!

Through the many kind acts he has selflessly carried out, the world has seen what a true gentleman Keanu Reeves really is. And one such interaction included the Hollywood actor sitting down next to a homeless man on the sidewalk for nothing more than a simple chat.

The photos of this encounter were completely unexpected, and it was nothing more than pure luck for the papparazzi that captured them.

Reeves is seen completely engaged by the stories shared by the homeless man. The two were even seen sharing a drink and a few laughs during the conversation.

According to Grazia, it was all the way back in 1997 when Keanu Reeves took the time out to make a homeless person feel seen and heard. The actor seemed unaware of what was around him as he shared a few conversations and simple moments with the man.

It wasn't planned by his PR agent and it wasn't part of any media shebang. In fact, if some paparazzi hadn't accidentally passed by the area, the incident probably would never have gained any attention.

They shared some snacks and a drink with each other while the star, whose name is known across the world, sat listening to the man's stories.

Reddit user named kahi, whose friend has worked with the actor on set, described Reeves as someone who "genuinely wanted to know peoples names, would say hello and mean it, and would talk to people as they were his peers and not below him."

With no hesitation, The Matrix hero had no hesitation in lying down on the side of West Hollywood's streets. He has previously said, as quoted by Goalcast, "Sometimes we get so caught up in our daily lives that we forget to take the time out to enjoy the beauty in life." And what better way to cut loose from the complacency than to take a moment out to say "hello" to someone, just about anyone, on the street.

Among the fans who heard about the incident, OhioIllustrator 1 said, "The most human actor in Hollywood with an arsenal of life curve balls thrown his way throughout life. I admire his compassion in this photograph."

Almost everyone he meets is left with the impression of him being a good-natured man with his manners in the right place. Reeves has also once said, "I was raised to treat people exactly how I would like to be treated by others. It’s called respect."
