"It's hard not to feel protective over her. She was so young," the actress said speaking of Princess Diana
Kristen Stewart had created a buzz amongst royal fans after it was announced that she will be playing the beloved Princess Diana in her upcoming movie. Many were skeptical but as days pass by and more of her looks from the movie are being released, Kristen Stewart is unrecognizable as she transforms into Princess Di.
The 30-year-old actress will play the late Princess in the new royal movie Spencer which centers on three days around 1991 at the Royal Family's Sandringham Estate, where the royal family usually spend the festive season. It is said that during the 1991 visit, over Christmas Eve, Christmas, and Boxing Day, Diana realized that her marriage to Prince Charles has unraveled and she revaluated the direction her life has taken. The movie which is based on this will show her tough decision to leave the Royal Family for good and will focus on the strength she found in difficult times. Filming began in January in Germany but has since moved to the UK, reported the Sun. A new picture has been released of Kristen in character and she is unrecognizable. Fans of both the actress and the beloved princess couldn't get enough of it.
In the new picture, Kristen wears an outfit similar to what Diana wore during a visit to Portsmouth in 1989. In an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Kristin discussed the challenges that came with portraying such the iconic Princess, who died in a car accident in Paris in August 1997."It's hard not to feel protective over her. She was so young. Everyone's perspective is different, and there's no way to get everything right, what is fact in relation to personal experience," the actress said. She also opened up about how she prepared for the role in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, "This is a really kind of poetic, really internalized imagining of maybe the heaviest three days’ time before she does something as gnarly as leaving the royal family. I'm just sort of reading everything that I can and then forgetting it because it's kind of a really internalized story," she said, according to the Sun. It has been further reported that Poldark actor Jack Farthing has been cast as Prince Charles while the rest of the cast includes Timothy Spall, Sally Hawkins, and Sean Harris.
