Meghan Markle Spotted Crying, Wiping Away Tears at Queen 's Funeral

"The event was an important show of unity at an incredibly difficult time for the family," a source claims Prince William said.

Like many other royal family members, the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, 41, was observed being sentimental during the Queen's, her late great grandmother-in-law's funeral at London's Westminster Abbey before the late monarch's coffin was taken to Wellington Arch in Hyde Park. She attended the funeral along with her husband Prince Harry, Queen consort Camilla, Princess Kate, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte. Meghan was seen grieving and wiping away a tear as she stood next to Harry at the event as the coffin was placed into the hearse following the procession from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall, reports People. Markle honored the Queen, by wearing the pearl and diamond drop earrings she was gifted by the late monarch during their first solo trip away in 2018.

In another emotional moment earlier in the procession behind the Queen's coffin, Markle was observed standing behind Queen Camilla, Kate Middleton, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte. When Princess Charlotte turned back and made eye contact with Meghan, she looked toward her and shared a pleasant smile. This moment caught between the two royals might be perceived as one of the most precious and rumor-shutting moments. According to a royal source, Prince William invited who invited his brother and sister-in-law to join him and Princess of Wales, Kate, thought how the outing "was an important show of unity at an incredibly difficult time for the family."

These heartfelt moments were captured outside Westminster Abbey. From there, the Queen's coffin was then transported to Windsor's St. George's Chapel, which will be her final resting place. The Sussexes did not bring their children, Archie, 3, and Lilibet, 1, to the funeral given the gravity of the somber occasion which the young children may have struggled to understand.

Markle, along with Harry, who recently turned 38, had traveled from California to Europe earlier this month for a series of charity events. They were going to make an appearance at the WellChild Awards in London when Queen Elizabeth died, and the couple had to head to Scotland to be with the family. Meghan and Harry joined William and Kate on September 10 at Windsor Castle to pay respects to the late Queen and greet the supporters and mourners.

The Sussexes were initially going to join the family at the Palace Funeral reception hosted by the newly anointed monarch, however, it was later revealed that Markle and Harry were uninvited from the Palace reception hosted by King Charles and Queen Camilla on account of only working members of the royal family being invited, as reported by People. About 2,000 people including overseas guests are expected to gather at Westminster Abbey for the event.
