Lifetime bosses have promised that the movie will reveal "what lead to the ultimate break from the royal ties"
Fans who couldn't get enough of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's interview with Oprah and those who continue to support their decision to leave the family are in for a treat as it has been announced that a Lifetime TV movie is underway which will document the couple's "dramatic departure from the Royal family", reported Mirror UK.
It has been reported that the bosses at the TV network have been given the green light to start work on 'Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace' which will focus on the lead up to Megxit and the aftermath. Lifetime bosses have promised that the movie will reveal "what led to the ultimate break from the royal ties". A statement from the network read, "‘Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace reveals what really happened inside the palace that drove Harry and Meghan to leave everything behind in order to make a future for themselves and their son Archie. The movie will detail Meghan’s growing isolation and sadness, their disappointment that 'The Firm' was not defending them against the press’s attacks, and Harry's fear that history would repeat itself and he would not be able to protect his wife and son from the same forces that caused his mother's untimely death."
It further said, "Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace will also reveal the private family feuds between Will and Harry, Kate and Meghan, and Harry with Will and Charles, that lead to the ultimate break from the royal ties." It will be Lifetime's third movie based on the couple's story, following the 2018 installment Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance and 2019's Harry & Meghan: Becoming Royal. In the first film, Meghan was played Parisa Fitz-Henley with Murray Fraser as Harry, but the actors didn't return for the sequel which starred Tiffany Smith and Charlie Field in the lead roles. Casting for the third installment is underway, reported Mirror.
This comes weeks after the sit-down chat with Oprah where the pair made a series of staggering claims that has been making headlines since. Meghan spoke about how a member made a comment on Archie's skin color. It was further suggested that he could be denied the title of Prince because of his mixed-race heritage. Meghan then opened up to Oprah about how she'd been left feeling suicidal during her pregnancy and how her attempts to seek help were dismissed. Harry revealed that he had been cut off financially by his dad Prince Charles, and Meghan suggested the pair had married in secret three days before the royal wedding, reported Mirror.
