Patrick Swayze’s Widow Lisa Honors Him On What Would Have Been Their ’s 46th Wedding Anniversary

The stunning couple married on June 12, 1975, and remained together for 34 years until his death in 2009

Losing the love of your life is not something one can get over. It has been 12 years since Patrick Swayze's death and not a day goes by when his widow, Lisa Swayze, doesn't think about him.

Swayze had ruled over the hearts of many women across the world but only one woman reigned over his. Patrick met Lisa Niemi at the Houston Ballet Dance Company when she was 14 years old. He was the son of the director at the time (Patsy Swayze) and the two started dating when she was 19. The stunning couple married on June 12, 1975, and remained together for 34 years until his death in 2009.

Years after his death, Lisa continues to honour him. In celebration of what would have been their 46th wedding anniversary, she shared a photo on Instagram, requesting her followers to ask their senators to support the fight against pancreatic cancer. She wrote, “Patrick’s life was cut short, but he really knew how to live. Like, he loved ordering multiple desserts! Honouring him on what would’ve been our 46th anniversary."

Lisa had spoken in the past about how she shares a different kind of a relationship with her beloved late husband years after his death. “When you lose someone, you never stop loving them and it’s– I feel like I have a different relationship with him now. It’s just, he’s not physically present, you know what I mean?”, she told Entertainment Tonight, according to Newsner.

Lisa has since continued helping others who have been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. In an interview with Yahoo Life last year, she spoke about how she feels Patrick's support even though he is not around. “I think he wants me to do well and be happy. And at the same time, I think he likes it that I’m tough enough to keep fighting. So he’d probably be going okay, sweetheart, you go girl, you get it done,” she said, reported Newsner.
