Prince Charles and Harry Won’t Be “Making Amends Anytime Soon”, Reveals Insider

Prince Charles was apparently “in a state of despair" after hearing Prince Harry's claims during the Oprah interview.

Despite it being a sad occasion, sources close to the Royal family saw Prince Philip's funeral as an opportunity for Prince Harry to patch things with his brother and father and stand in solidarity with his mourning family. Insiders now claim that after Prince Harry returned to the UK for the funeral, the process of reconciliation with his brother, Prince William, "was off to a good start" but the trip didn't do much to resolve the lingering tension between him and his father, Prince Charles, reported Vanity Fair

A source spoke to the Us Weekly and said, “unfortunately, Harry and Charles didn’t resolve their differences when Harry returned to the U.K. They barely communicated. There definitely continues to be a huge wedge between the two. During the Oprah interview, Harry had stated that he felt “trapped” as a royal and claimed that his father “stopped taking my calls." Prince Charles was apparently “in a state of despair" after hearing his statements, a friend revealed to Vanity Fair. Though the father and son were able to briefly reconnect at the funeral, they apparently didn't get a chance to have the conversations necessary to mend their relationship.

The source explained, "Charles is still fuming about Harry throwing shade at him and the royal family in the big interview and won’t let it drop. But to be honest, Harry didn’t go running back to Charles begging for forgiveness either. He still hasn’t forgiven his father for his lack of effort and support after he and Meghan decided to move. The reason Harry went back to the U.K. was to see the queen and to pay his respects to Prince Philip. That’s about as far as it goes.” It was further reported that Prince Harry is set to return to the UK in July for the unveiling of a statue dedicated to his late mother, Princess Diana, and many royal insiders hope that the occasion will help him and Prince William to patch things between them further and that it will give him an opportunity to mend his relationship with his father as well, reported the Vanity Fair
