Thank you to everyone who donated, Harry and Meghan.”
This is not the first time the couple has come together to support a campaign for the organization. Prince Harry has shown his support for the Campaign for Female Education (CAMFED) while he carried out his royal duties. In 2018, the prince also visited the organization in Zambia. Meghan Markle, on the other hand, took part in a panel discussion along with the organization's executive director, Angie Murimirwa, for International Women’s Day in 2019.
At the time, Murimirwa stated, "[Meghan’s] a long-standing supporter for women’s rights, for equality and for equal opportunities, and it is really exciting that she is doing this along with other women who are in the space of education on International Women’s Day," according to People.
Besides making the donation and supporting a cause they believe in, the couple had other plans to make Harry's birthday a memorable day. The couple, who gives a lot of importance to quality time with family also did the same for Harry's birthday. A source close to the Duke of Sussex stated he had "some birthday celebrations quietly with the family".
With the extended royal family away, sources assumed he would catch up with everyone including Prince Charles, Prince William via phone, or video chat.
However, the members of the royal family took to social media to wish Harry. According to Harper's Bazaar, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge shared a throwback picture of the three running playfully in a race in a Heads Together team training session in February 2017 ahead of the London Marathon. The caption read, "Wishing a very happy birthday to Prince Harry today! 🎂🎈."
Meanwhile, Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla wished Harry with one of his handsome headshots. Another picture posted showed the father and son sharing a moment of laughter. The caption stated, "Wishing a very happy birthday to The Duke of Sussex today!" The Queen too remembered to wish her grandson with a throwback picture.
However, little is known of how Meghan made her husband's birthday special this year. In the past, she has come up with romantic plans to celebrate Harry's birthdays. On his 35th birthday, she recreated their Botswana camping adventures in their backyard.
"It's a place that means so much to them — and to Harry in particular — so Meghan wanted to bring that happy place to him on his day so she set up a tent, got sleeping bags, cooked dinner and recreated Botswana where they fell in love," said a source, according to People.
Apart from the birthday, the couple has so much more to celebrate this year. The couple signed a multi-year deal with Netflix to produce exclusive content. "As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us, as is powerful storytelling through a truthful and relatable lens. We are pleased to work with Ted and the team at Netflix whose unprecedented reach will help us share impactful content that unlocks action," said the couple in a statement, according to People.
