Queen Elizabeth II Relied on Jesus Christ During Challenging Times, Kept Faith Till Her Last Day

During the Coronavirus pandemic, she asked Britian to keep faith in the lord to sail through the difficult times.

When Queen Elizabeth II's death was formally disclosed to the world, the United Kingdom went into a protracted period of mourning, and the rest of the world also joined in the grieving. As a country's figurehead, the Queen would frequently address the larger public. Throughout her long life and historic reign, the Queen established many precedents. She broke several long-held conventions, potentially ushering the monarchy into the more modernized form we see today.

After the September 11, 2001 attacks, she broke one of the most recognizable customs. The Queen had the American national song played during the Changing of the Guard ceremony at Buckingham Palace on September 12, 2001, instead of the British national anthem. She had 'The Star Spangled Banner' playing in the background and supposedly even joined in on the singing out of respect for the American people who were going through a difficult period. A witness said, "When ‘The Star Spangled Banner’ was played in the cathedral, she joined in (the singing) and was later seen wiping a tear from her eye, " per Liftable.

Despite all of the dramatic changes to the monarchy over time, the Queen's deep Christian faith remained constant. In her public speeches, the Queen frequently highlighted examples of Jesus.

For the Christmas broadcast in 2000, she asserted her belief in the Christ strongly, saying, "In his early thirties, He was arrested, tortured and crucified with two criminals. His death might have been the end of the story, but then came the resurrection and with it the foundation of the Christian faith."

The Queen was not ashamed of her faith. In March 2020, while the world was shutting down due to the coronavirus outbreak, she delivered a speech on the occasion of Easter, urging people to find solace in Christ through the unexpected times the world was experiencing, per the official website of the Royal Family.

She expressed, "The discovery of the risen Christ on the first Easter Day gave his followers new hope and fresh purpose, and we can all take heart from this. We know that Coronavirus will not overcome us. As dark as death can be — particularly for those suffering with grief —light and life are greater. May the living flame of the Easter hope be a steady guide as we face the future."

The monarch affirmed unequivocally her confidence in Jesus' bodily resurrection.
